Czechs out in Round 1 of SWC
The Czech Republic last night crashed out of the Speedway World Cup in Vojens after scoring only 12 points with Lukas Dryml scoring 5 of them. The traditionally slick track just did not seem to suit the Czechs who were passed with ease in most races by the other 3 nations competing. Only Lukas Dryml and to an extent Josef Franc offered any resistance, Franc in particular having two excellent battles, firstly with World Champion Nicki Pedersen and also Grand Prix rider Emil Sayfutdinov.
The departure of the Czechs from the World Cup means that Berwick rider Josef Franc will be present at Brough Park today as the Bandits take on the Diamonds in the return leg of the Premier League.
